Leandra Pauley, Baltimore Corps

Leandra's Fellowship:

As a Baltimore Corps Fellow, Leandra worked with KaBOOM! and Baltimore Corps as Program Manager of Play More B'more, an initiative providing employment experience to opportunity youth in the city, ages 14-24. Leandra now works as Program Manager for the Baltimore Corps Fellowship, making sure every Fellow is supported throughout the year.

Background:

After living in the city for four years as an undergraduate at Loyola University of Maryland, Leandra learned early on that Baltimore’s narrative is often written by those who are removed from the city. This image, of a poor, broken community is not how she sees the city and has decided to dedicate her time to empowering Baltimore residents. In her spare time, Leandra can often be spotted running all over the city training for her next half marathon, or seen at a local vegan eatery.

Why do you choose to live and work in Baltimore?

Because Baltimore has a lot to offer for everyone and it has a lot to offer the country. It is a great place to meet diverse people and a great way to dive into social justice impact work. It is a city with a lot of opportunity for growth and development.

What's one surprising fact about yourself?

I've traveled to 14 different countries.
