Gabe Auteri, Baltimore City Health Department

Gabe's Fellowship:

At the Health Department, Gabe serves as the Special Assistant to the Health Commissioner, Dr. Leana Wen. In this role, he hopes to use his experience and passion for helping others to improve access to quality healthcare and mitigate the health disparities that plague the city.

Background:

Gabe came to Baltimore from Washington D.C. while completing his JD/MBA at American University. Formerly a High School History Teacher, Gabe returned to law school intent on working on policy to expand access to opportunity, particularly as it relates to public health, education, and homelessness. Gabe and his family have put down roots in Baltimore and couldn’t be happier. He and his wife love the city and plan to spend their lives working to make opportunity in Baltimore accessible to all.

Why do you choose to live and work in Baltimore?

Baltimore is a unique city with huge problems and an exceptionally strong core of leaders who can help remedy those problems. I hope to one day be one of those leaders.

What's one surprising fact about yourself?
