Welcome to Community Health Pathways, a paid service learning program dedicated to developing the next generation of public health leaders. As an AmeriCorps program operated by Baltimore Corps, we're seeking passionate individuals to serve as Community Health Navigators in local health organizations across Baltimore City.

  • Earn Certifications – Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Community Health worker (CHW), or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) . Additional certifications can be earned in Narcan, Mental Health First Aid, and CPR.

  • Enjoy Competitive Benefits – Receive a learning stipend up to $30,000* (depending on length of service term), healthcare benefits, and a monthly MTA pass. (If eligible, SNAP assistance and child care credits are also available).

* NOTE: Members on the Community Health Worker (CHW) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) pathway complete their service term over 11 months. Members on the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Pathway must complete their service term in 6 months.

Born in response to COVID-19, a crisis that highlighted and worsened historic racial health inequities, Public Health AmeriCorps is a partnership launched between AmeriCorps and the Center for Disease Control to help develop new public health leaders. Baltimore Corps’ Community Health Pathways is proud to be one of 80+ programs nationwide working to create viable pathways to quality public health-related careers while engaging in community efforts that lead to more equitable health outcomes for historically underserved and intentionally disinvested communities.
