Sheron Russell, Deputy Director of Recruitment and Community Engagement
The Deputy Director of Recruitment and Community Engagement is the lead strategist and implementer in attaining a diverse, quality pipeline of talent for all Baltimore Corps programs and initiatives. The Deputy Director of Recruitment and Community Engagement is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with constituents across a broad range of interest groups in Baltimore City to further Baltimore Corps’ mission and vision.
Sheron joined the Baltimore Corps team in the late summer of 2016. Before joining Baltimore Corps, Sheron was employed at Harvard University. As a Cornell University Diversity Professional Practitioner (CCDP\AP), she is skilled in public speaking and promoting healthy conversations about sensitive topics such as race, gender, religion, disability, and sexual orientation. She was an adjunct professor at Bunker Hill Community College from 2007 to 2009, lecturing on topics of management and supervision in law enforcement, race, ethnicity and cultural issues in the American criminal justice system. Additionally, she is a Certified Instructional Trainer with the Southeastern Massachusetts Municipal Police Council. Sheron holds an MS in Criminal Justice from Bridgewater State University.
