Rickisha's story
A little girl’s dream became a woman with a vision. I knew as a small child I wanted to be a beautician and have my own beauty salon with glamour cosmetics! In grade school on picture day, I would bring combs, brushes and hair accessories for anyone who wanted me to do their hair and be picture perfect. I loved making my friends look glamorous! At the age of 12, I knew I had something special. I was invited to my first Warner Brothers Beauty Trade show in Atlanta, GA by my beautician. I was told how talented I was to be so young. I could duplicate any hairstyle by studying and recreating it on myself. “If you can be your own canvas, you can create anything.” Someone once told me. Soon after, I was on a mission: creating the art in hair artistry.
After graduating from high school, I chose to follow my dream and build a successful beauty salon. At the age of 19, I left my hometown in Kentucky and relocated to Maryland where I obtained my cosmetology license and makeup artistry certification. My credentials and experience allowed me to share my gifts and talents by traveling to New York, throughout the Maryland metropolitan area, and then later to Hollywood, California; obtaining a Masters Diploma in make-up artistry.
As a professional in beauty and wellness, I excel daily to balance the gift of artistry and the foundation of operating my own business. It is my desire to empower and share my knowledge as a beauty consultant and wellness massage therapist with phenomenal women and men.
