Julio Cervantes Barranco, Zeke Cohen/City Council
Julio will be working with the future District 1 city councilman for Baltimore City, Zeke Cohen, as a liaison for the Latino community. With 14 years of experience in the Latino community as a resident he understands what the challenges are for members of the community and its surrounding neighbors. Most of the work that will be done for Zeke Cohen will be research and outreach with in the community to influence democratic policy and secure a positive future for the city of Baltimore.
Julio is a Mexican National that has spent the majority of his life with in the United States starting in the city of New York then migrating to Baltimore at the age of 10 with his family. He enjoys the city life and embraces all of its diverse amenities that cities cultivate. Some of his hobbies include music production, social active sports (volleyball, kickball, football, lacrosse), hanging out with close friends & family, and reading.
Why do you choose to live and work in Baltimore?
Baltimore has a lot to offer, it has made me the person I am today and I look forward to working collectively with government and community leaders to see how we can make this a city were we welcome innovators, artists, and entrepreneurs to express themselves. My overall goal here in Baltimore is to create a huge splash were the waves can be felt throughout the country.
What's one surprising fact about yourself?
I don't like to play soccer.
