Jason Israel, Interim Vice President

Jason Israel is a dedicated public servant, naval officer, and educator with more than 15 years of experience in military and civilian leadership positions at the federal, state, and local levels.

Thankful for the many people who have guided and inspired him throughout his life, Jason is passionate about educating and empowering youth to rise to their full potential and has spent his free time teaching and mentoring students in each community in which he’s lived. In Maryland, he has worked for more than a decade with Maryland Leadership Workshops (MLW), both teaching and now serving on the Board of Directors.  Jason now works throughout Baltimore with several organizations including Baltimore Corps, Building STEPS, and Vehicles for Change.  In October 2016, he was appointed Board Chair of the South Baltimore Gateway Community Impact District which oversees approximately $8 million per year in community development projects. 

Jason received a Bachelor's of Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master's in Public Policy from the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government, graduating with the Ellen S. Raphael award for Academic Excellence and Public Service.  Jason and his wife Caroline reside in Baltimore City.
